Raising Funds For Charity

Ever since the Barberettes began in 1975 we have always been strong believers in giving back to the community by helping to raise funds for organisations. Some of our charitable events include:

2024

  • In June sang at Emmbrook Court Retirement Home and raised £160 for Royal Berkshire Hospital’s charity fund
  • In February were guests of Reading Male Voice Choir and helped raise £1,982 for the Parkinson’s Reading ranch

2023

  • In December sang at Winnersh Parish Council Christmas event and helped to raise £603.62 for Wokingham Foodbank
  • In December helped to raise £1,000 with other groups by singing Xmas songs at Reading Station railway figure for Royal Berkshire Hospital’s charity fund
  • In December sang Christmas songs at Reading Minister at helped raise £4,000 with other groups for Royal Berkshire Hospital’s charity fund

2022

  • In December sang at a Charity Xmas singout for Wokingham Mayor’s Charity of the Year Kaleidoscopic

2021

  • In December sang to Christmas shoppers at the Lexicon Shopping centre to help raise funds of the Lexicon’s Charity
2019
  • In December sang at the Lexicon shopping centre to raise funds for various charities
  • In December sang at The Oracle Shopping centre and raised £234.09 to help support vulnerable people over the festive season and all year round
  • In September helped raise money for Save the Children, Kennet Branch with Arborfield Military Choir 
2017
  • In December sang at a the Oracle in Reading for various charities
  • In November sang at Wokingham Methodist Church, Festival of Angels for various local charities
  • In February sang at the RBH show, Shinfield Players Theatre raising money for The League Of Friends
2016
  • In December sang at the Christian Aid Concert with Reading Accordian Group
2015
  • In December sang at Wokinghan Methodist Church, Festival Of Trees to raise funds for various local charities
  • In November some of our members took part in the Starlight Hike and raised £520 for the Sue Ryder charity 
  • In June sang at Caversham Court Gardens for The Friends of Reading Museum garden party.
2014
  • In July sang at Christ Church in Woodley to raise funds for Tools for Self Reliance
