Saturday 7th December saw the Barberettes return to Whiteknights Bowling Club for their Christmas event and entertain some of their members after nearly a decade when we last had the pleasure of performing to them on 13th December 2014! This year we also helped them raise £315 for Ovarian Cancer charity.
This year we again performed some of favourite Christmas repertoire songs which included lots of audience participation which saw the audience jingling some bells and sing 'Jingle Bells' with us as well as helping us in our rendition of 'What Shall We Do With A Drunken Santa' where they really helped Santa 'down the chimney'. They also joined the Barberettes for '12 Days Of Christmas' where one table outshone all the rest in their representation of '10 Lords are Leaping'. Our honorary member 'Blossom' also made her appearance during 'I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas'.
AlphaWaves also helped give the chorus a break in one set with their rendition of Andy Williams' 'Its The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year'. As always the Barberettes thoroughly enjoyed their time singing to the audience and look forward to entertaining them again.
The Barberettes are thoroughly looking forward to regaling audiences with some more of their Christmas repertoire between now and Christmas including entertaining member so the Purley WI on Wednesday 11th, singing to shoppers at Saville Gardens on Saturday 21st and even on Christmas Eve when a small contingent will be entertaining dinners at Bearwood Lakes.
