Sunny Saturdays

By Jill, Lead
On a sunny Saturday in Wokingham, the Barberettes entertained the local shoppers with a variety of upbeat and cheerful songs. We sang in front of the Town Hall to an amused crowd who appeared to enjoy our music and moves.
Singing in the open air, competing with barking dogs, road traffic noise, blustery winds and market traders (‘Buy your local strawberries here!’) is always a challenge but one the Barberettes appear to thrive on. We sang many songs from our repertoire including Raining Men and We go together.

The audience were also treated to a surprise performance from one of our talented quartets ‘4midable’ who sang two songs from their growing repertoire ‘Great Balls of Fire and ‘Somewhere’ from West Side Story which is a personal favourite of mine.
Once again, we had yet another enjoyable sing out at Sunny Saturday in Wokingham and I can highly recommend the tasty local strawberries from the fruit stall – they were delicious!
