On Wednesday 27th February we were very honoured to welcome a past member, Jean Olman back to club so that she could be presented with a very prestigious award.

Jean joined the Barberettes when it was founded four decades ago and has continued to be a hard working member of LABBS (one of three barbershop-singing organisations in the UK helping over 50 choruses from across the country enjoy their craft) ever since, despite having hung up her vocal chords with The Barbs a few years ago.

On Wednesday we celebrated Jean’s 40th Anniversary as a member of LABBS and I was honoured to join Emma and the rest of the chorus in presenting her with her official badge and certificate from LABBS.  Our sincere congratulations go to Jean for this momentous achievement. We were also all very pleased to help devour the lovely cake that Jean had baked for the occasion!

Jean’s commitment to the Barberettes is a testament to what a wonderful organisation and hobby we are all part of. Long may we all continue to enjoy the benefits of harmony singing and camaraderie that come from being a member of the Barberettes.
